Cavity examines the spatial relations between the self and the home, exploring notions of gender, motherhood, and domesticity. How do we form our identities in response to our immediate surroundings? How does the household engender a sense of identity? Is the home human? My poetics of dissent consider nontraditional forms of family, sexual identity and self-discovery, and gender roles and expectations within the home.

In Perpetuity is part of Ivey Wawn’s project of the same name. With contributions from those involved in the making of what would have been the live performance, it is an accumulation of thoughts, reflections and associated pieces of work that give some idea of what the work could, would, or may in the future come to be. 

In Perpetuity is an ongoing project that has taken a variety of forms, from publication, through video and into live performance.

The book Taalbarrière brings together reproductions of a drawing's series linked to an audio creation about the border and the language barrier in Belgium through the eyes of secondary school pupils who are learning the language of the other community, French or Dutch.

This publication is based on a project by Despina Vassiliadou that ran from 2015-16. It presents a collection of photographs taken during the period, accompanied by fictional short stories.

The materials collected in the publication have been developed departing from the documentation, transcription and translation of textual, visual, sculptural and audio materials produced between March and November 2021 for STILI DRAMA. 

STILI DRAMA is an open-ended episodic para-cinematographic project, which functions as a spontaneous expression of MRZB research. STILI DRAMA XVIII-XXI and LA GIOSTRA DI LULU XLI-XLIV are the two first fragments of the work.

To write, to boil, to cook ideas, stir them all, spice them up with some references and again write and knead the dough out of it. To what forms can recipes lead? This is the central question of this thesis. Recipes follow a certain literary genre. Whether carved on stones or written along the horizontal edges of a notebook, they all conform to a specific structure. In the text I analyse these structures, to show the way in which the recipe itself unveils its deeper meanings, concerns, and secrets. Why, when, who and how are fundamental questions I ask, while I read out loud a recipe about macaroni from the 1495 – or when I look at a Sumerian tablet where a Cuneiform system of writing states that epilepsy is a tease of the demons. Material form, literary form and social interaction are the flavors I want to bring up from each recipe I use as an example, hoping to find a way to understand how these three elements are melted together to form an interconnected circle.

CHOREOGRAPHY/KOREOGRAFI is an anthology published in three editions, consisting of texts written by artists active within the field of dance and choreography in the Nordic countries.

With the anthology we wish to build a rich and complex understanding of what choreography is and can be. We approach choreography as its own field of knowledge, and try to reach out and contribute to a larger Nordic disciplinary community. Our ambition is to protect a space for reflection that we experience as threatened, that is to say the thinking from and around the artistic works and practices.

Each contribution is build around a specific issue requested by the editors and developed in dialogue with the contributors, there are independent texts as well as conversations and interviews. All texts exist in both Scandinavian and English versions. We have curated the texts we’ve been missing and the conversations we have dreamt of reading.

The anthology is edited and published independently by artists based in Oslo. The first edition was launched in May 2016 and edited by Solveig Styve Holte, Ann-Christin Kongsness and writer Runa Borch Skolseg. The second edition was launched in October 2018 and edited by Solveig Styve Holte, Ann-Christin Kongsness and Venke Marie Sortland. The third edition was launched in September 2021, and edited by Holte, Kongsness and Sortland as well, all three of us work as dancers, choreographers and writers. Helge Hjort Bentsen is behind the graphic design for the first and second edition, Kim Hiorthøy did the graphic design for the third edition.

The third and last edition of CHOREOGRAPHY consists of eight newly written texts. The anthology still has a Nordic focus, but this time we have decided to go deeper into certain issues, regardless of geographical context. In this edition we also have a stronger interdisciplinary focus, in addition to following up some threads from the two former editions; marginal perspectives with a base in feminist, queer and post-colonial traditions, form experiments that explore text as an extended choreographic practice, texts by and about and as collectives, how to make artistic research available and how the infrastructures that we depend on influences our artistic practices and vice versa.

The contributors for the third edition are Sigrid Øvreås Svendal, Ingri Midgard Fiksdal, Kristine, Tjøgersen, Chloe Chignell, Hanna Järvinen, Goro Tronsmo, Solveig Styve Holte, Roza Moshtaghi and Karen Eide Bøen.

* Le Master en Textes et Création Littéraire de l’École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels de La Cambre propose un programme de formation aux étudiants qui visent à faire des métiers du texte et de la création littéraire leur avenir professionnel. In 2019 SOTA finished the first Fair Arts Almanac. The content of the book was generated during a week long summer camp in 2018 with about 70 contributors. The result was a bundling of tips & tricks, statements & demands, visions & ideas, dates & data, testimonies & voices, addresses & announcements on fairness within the complex relationships between the artistic, political and economic sphere. The compilation of various contributions in this first edition was deliberately associative and open for debate, full of contradictions, loose ends and inconsistencies.

KNEE BALANCE (2021) is a performance that uses choreography, writing, photography, and design to traverse particular anatomical, personal, and sociopolitical arcs. Time oscillates and fractures movement. Space unfolds. Situated before a hearth in the throes of balance, the performer becomes a crucible for memory, durability, and the reciprocal relationship between the present and the unforeseen.

This work marks the first in a series of performances by Matty Davis arranged for print by Matt Wolff. Distinct in content and form, each work weaves psychosomatic realities with the spatial and temporal possibilities of print.

Vital contributions have been made to this series of performances by artists including Will Arbery, Whitney Browne, Mark Davis, Eryka Dellenbach, Nile Harris, Jonah Rosenberg, Holly Sass, Matt Shalzi, and Bobbi Jene Smith.

I'm Not Sad, The World Is Sad is an autotheoretical, semi-fictional account of a performance artist who lands a part-time job as an Embedded Artistic Researcher in an art institution. Invested in queer theory and institutional critique, she sets out to perform the artist 'differently' through a process of negation and passivity, inadvertently causing her relationship with the insitution's curator to grow increasingly speculative and paranoid. Louwerens dresses her protagonist in the different professional guises of artistic labour. Het experiences as tour guide, security guard, artist, hostess and researcher at different institutions begin to overlap and blend under the name of 'performance'.

I'm Not Sad, The World Is Sad is a fragmented story of paranoid and reparative reading, script and utterance, exposure and vulnerability.

I am Welton Santos reenacts a dialogue between the Brazilian geo-bio-architect Welton Santos and an Interviewer. The book, which is always read collectively, is used in reading performances by groups of at least 3 people.

The Posttraumatic is a newspaper created by creatives and artists. [eng, cast, cat]

Why a newspaper? The project believes that a newspaper is an important link between our social reality (built over the centuries by three-headed monsters and the occasional fairy godmother) and the individuals who live in it, because it is an essential communication element and because its content is a fucking drama almost always.

When Ulrich Beck, a literate man, assures us that “the media does not respond to the inspiration of the enlightenment but to that of the market and capital” we can only read the news with a distrustful and defenseless frown. Uncle Sam manipulates us to his likings and we satisfy our appetites by feasting on his words as if they were cocaine-coated cookies that only serve to fatten the need to win over arguments at our neighbor’s dinner-table conversations. We do not know if the information we swallow is invented, bought, if they are news clippings curated by a 4channer´s paranoid imagination, or if it is an objective, absolute, eternal truth.

Based on these fatalistic, dramatic and somewhat depressing theories on news and their consumption, 39 artists were contacted and each one was granted with a space, a sort of an article, to do whatever they wanted with it. It has not been intended to generate any specific ideological discourse and there is no gift flag.

Self-published poetry collection by Loïs Soleil. “Touch me with gloves, I am not ready yet” is the artist’s first poetry chapbook. It touches on subjects such as mothers, friendship breakups, surviving trauma, mental health and fuckboys.

Loïs Soleil is a Franco-Scottish artist inspired by intersectional feminism, net.art, pop culture and cultural studies. Her performances, installations and poems reveal an autobiographical directness, rawness and an emotionally vulnerable quality singular to their "hyper intimacy".

Comes in four colors: green, orange, blue and yellow.

In April 2019, Sophie Nys presented the solo exhibition Family Nexus at KIOSK. In psychology, a family nexus stands for a vision that is shared by the majority of family members, often unconsciously and for several generations long, and is upheld in the context of events both within the family and in its relationship to the world. Among other, the monumental, stretched out net in the dome space was a symbol of this family dynamic. 

Two years later, the theme is still working its way through the above mentioned heads. The shared interest of Nys, Gourdon, Aerts and Peacock leads to a collaboration in the form of a book that, just like the exhibition, can be read as a net of (un)coherent intrigues and knots in which no position can be neutral. They set up a network of characters. Together they represent all kinds of (human) connections. Family Nexus is a story about everyone and no one in particular. Who in this book is playing the role of the Nobody, the household’s so-called 'identified patient', or scapegoat, and which pots and pans has slipped through this character’s fingers?
