The Flesh is a collection of Yves B. Golden's poems, lyric essays and social criticism – and often these generic distinctions become blurred. Published by Ediciones La Escocesa (Barcelona, ES), TABLOID facilitated this book's production as editors and book designers. A selection of Golden's texts are also translated by Leto Ybarra, rendering the author's work into Spanish for the first time.

About the author
Justin Allen is a writer and performer from Northern Virginia. With a background in tap dancing and creative writing, his work often combines a variety of art forms. He has been commissioned by The Chocolate Factory Theater and The Shed and has held residencies at ISSUE Project Room and the Center for Afrofuturist Studies. He has received support from Franklin Furnace, Foundation for Contemporary Arts, and the Jerome Foundation, and shared his work both stateside and abroad.

Infrastructural systems define our ways of seeing and responding to the world around us. Today, our everyday lives and visual cultures have become saturated by digital communications systems whose physical footprint has been rendered largely invisible from the public sphere.

In an age of ever-expanding computation and a foolish believe in AI’s utopian potential, resistance can seem futile. But if we detach our gaze from increasingly narrow realm of digital imaginaries, a new world of radically different infrastructural opportunities opens up in front of our eyes.

The Nightmare Sequence is a searing response to the atrocities in Gaza and beyond since October 2023. Born of collective suffering and despair, their collaboration interrogates the position of witness: the terrible and helpless distance of vision, the impact of being exposed to violence of this scale on a daily basis, and what it means to live in a society that is actively participating in the catastrophic destruction of Arabs and Muslims overseas. With a foreword by Palestinian American poet George Abraham, this book will serve as a vital record in decades to come.

Anisur Rahman (b.1978) made his poetic debut in 2003. As a journalist, translator and playwright he has further contemplated the poetic mind. Born in Bangladesh, he writes in both Bengali and English, but nowadays lives exiled in Sweden.

Lydia Amarouche est directrice éditoriale, autrice et curatrice. Son travail puise dans l'exploration de documents d'archives, une matière première qui lui permet en particulier d’aborder la question du passé et du présent colonial. En 2020, elle fonde Shed publishing, une maison d'édition indépendante publiant des essais de critique sociale et politique ainsi que de la littérature jeunesse.
