Toutes les filles rêvent d’un prisonnier

Jangal est un ouvrage collectif avec la participation d’Ana Pi, Julien Creuzet, Léna Araguas et Éva Barois De Caevel. Il a été conçu lors de l’exposition « Cet ailleurs, qui rejaillit en moi, lorsque je suis là (…) » de Julien Creuzet à la galerie NaMiMa de l’École nationale supérieure d’art et de design de Nancy.

Ce recueil de textes choisis et inédits en français offre une plongée dans le mouvement féministe américain du début des années 1970 et le rôle déterminant qu'y ont joué les lesbiennes. Entre 1969 et 1974, des textes majeurs du mouvement sont écrits par des collectifs comme les Lavender Menace et des autrices comme Martha Shelley, Willyce Kim, Rita Mae Brown, Judy Grahn ou Sue Katz. En problématisant le genre, la classe, la race et leurs multiples intersections, elles ont défendu des positions révolutionnaires. Cet ouvrage donne aussi à voir les formes graphiques prises par ces textes, témoignant de l'intrépidité et de la radicalité de cette jeunesse homosexuelle féministe.

Une écriture dont le style évoque le rap, avec ses rimes, sa part de violence, de néologismes et d’égotrip, outil de lutte contre les injustices et l’ordre établi, celui de la langue comme celui de l’inceste. AD a 22 ans lorsqu’il quitte sa famille, écrit Firestar et nous accorde sa confiance pour le publier. Un travail testimonial rare sur les violences intra-familiales à la racine des systèmes de domination, un attentat poétique pour ne pas oublier.Lorsqu’en 2021 sa mémoire traumatique se réveille, AD Rose tente d'obtenir réparation auprès de ses parents, coupables de l'avoir incestué. Face au mur d’omerta auquel il se heurte, il trouve pouvoir dans l’écriture. Comme un réflexe de survie pour crier, sans demander la permission, libéré de la honte et des secrets. Un mouvement sans concession pour reprendre sa vie.

Dead Minutes is a storytelling game about systemic change in an undesirable afterlife. You, the players, will decide what this hell, underworld or land of the dead is like, what its problems are, how change happens there, and what the complications might be when altering something so big, involving so many dead people, over so much time. It’s a game about impossible seeming actions at impossible seeming scales, making difficult choices, and dealing with unexpected outcomes.

The first half of this book gives you everything you need to play a session of Dead Minutes, which takes 2-5 hours with 3-6 people.

The second half features an essay by Patricia Reed that expands on the concepts of heuristic fictions and vital zombies in relation to the afterlife, and a series of afterlife generating 'seeds' contributed by different types of writers - a demonic boardroom presentation by writer and art critic Habib William Kherbek, a ritual from horror game designer Samuel Clarice Mui Shen Ern, a premise by Arthur C Clarke award winning author Chris Beckett, and a letter from Selma Selman.

Hands & Feet of Friends & Family is a weave of Helen Korpak’s photocollages and locket-sized literary captions recording closely observed familiar and familial gestures. Granular renderings tenderly taped, Korpak’s collages meld the touching and the wryly humorous, balancing throughout the vulnerability of artist and subjects bonded by essential fondness.

For the project Time has fallen asleep in the afternoon sunshine a group of people/ performers memorize a book of their choice. Together they form a library collection consisting of living books. After years of learning by heart and reciting for readers, some of the books have now been written down from memory to create new editions, versions resulting from this process. This book is one of those books, chosen by one person, learned by heart and recited many times, and now written down again from memory. This edition is not a re-edition of the original text. It is a re-writing of the text after the process of reading, memorizing and reciting, with all the alterations that might have occured in the course of this process.

"I asked Andriu Deplazes if he had always wished to be a painter. No, he said. For a time, he had trained to be a classical musician, but turned away from music because there was something repellent about the need to demonstrate virtuosity. To be a virtuoso, as the moral world depicted in these paintings clearly shows, is not the same as having virtue. And yet, at the same time, there are still traces of virtuosity in Deplazes' practice: in the idealised landscapes that he renders, and in the easy depiction of animal life. It is only humans that he will not denigrate with such perfection. Their overpainted faces do not allow them to be captured as things, but rather present them as subjects. Born 1993 in Zurich, Andriu Deplazes lives and works in Zurich, Brussels and Marseille. His paintings create a kind of parallel cosmos that questions the habitual ways of seeing and expectations of the beholder. Wide landscapes in colourfully powerful large format are the setting for curious characters who sometimes melt into the vegetation around them or appear strangely remote from it. His work has been exhibited throughout Europe since 2015.

F.R.DAVID is a typographical journal, dealing with the organisation of reading and writing in contemporary art practises. The 18th issue, “Recto Verso” is edited by Will Holder, and had its beginnings in prosody, the measure of language, geometry, and a notion of imagist transcription, even. A two-dimensional exercise, it turns out, on paper. Words were tuned out, in favour of the volume of values our bodies exchanged: “the historical and bodily movement of language amongst subjects.” Attentions turned—taking (the measure of) classes in body language: the non-verbal: the insinuated: the reverse-side of image: the backside, and, oddly: Oh no: we don’t speak about that—to the next page…
