Survival Manual for Self-publishers in NL is a zine that consolidates essential knowledge for thriving as a self-publisher. With a focus on practicality, this comprehensive guide brings together previously scattered and opaque information from the self-publishing realm.
Elizabeth in the Woolds is the product of two superimposed compositional strategies; a thematic aggregate based on notes dating back to 2008 and an epic prose narrative. Elizabeth is the device through which this simultaneous register moves. Screen writing provides a model for multiple voices. In a film script, the narrator can be the camera; there’s a machine at the centre of the story structure which figures a demand for resolution of plot; a contrario, the thematic approach (S, U, N, as electric light) obliterates chronology, and enumerates an atemporal topological figure, or the way the world is built.

In I presumed possession, my language, my loss, I begin in third person to write about what it means to lose a mother tongue, and about how that loss is never natural but engineered: by state assessments, border conditions, and a free market of articulation. I write about language as transaction—what you gain in the language of power at the cost of becoming inarticulate in the language of origin. I write about the monolingual paradigm as a political demand rather than a natural inheritance, about standardization as a form of border-drawing, and about the grief of hearing the people you love measured as insufficient. The text moves between the personal and the structural, between a grandmother forgetting and a language policy forbidding. It is about what we lose, and about what we have learned to accept as acceptable to lose.
Cecilie Fang is an anti-disciplinary artist and writer from China and Denmark, based in Amsterdam. Generated through writing, her process-oriented work unfolds across performance, publication, material micro-performativity, and installation.

Even though Treasure is completing a PhD in English Literature and Criticism, is a published writer, gifted veteran educator, and has spoken on stages all over the U.S. and in Europe, she uses her humble beginnings in the federal housing projects in Meridian, Mississippi to fuel her passion for helping college-bound families navigate college admissions painlessly and pro tably, and o ering perceptive leaders creative diversity and inclusion facilitation. Esther De Soomer, Rudolph Glitz
Terra Nova combines fragments from a novel in the making by Esther De Soomer, in which she explores the parallels between the loss of language and forest dieback, between climate grief and linguistic mourning. Reflecting on her own relationship with language and multilingualism, she traces the feelings of grief that accompany the loss of German, one of her mother tongues. Drawing on existing narratives — such as fairy tales and family stories — she examines the critical state of the disappearing Hambacher Wald in Western Germany and presents language as a means to name and hold on to things.

Bayan Abu Nahla is a visual artist born in 2001 in Gaza, Palestine. Her artistic practice functions as a visual diary, documenting and reflecting rapidly evolving events, both before and after the genocide. Through her work, she explores realities and daily living conditions often unknown to those who have not lived in Gaza.
