England With Eggs

DUCTUS is the latest solo project by Paul Abbott, featuring 51 minutes of audio, across 12 tracks, and a 42 page booklet featuring new writing. DUCTUS was written and recorded in Edinburgh and Porto in 2019. 

DUCTUS presents a playful weave of collapsing time through a number of speculative elements and fictional characters. Abbott feels his way through learning drums, rhythm and writing as fleshy research technologies. DUCTUS is the latest stage in a process considering sound, the body, imagination, and language through music. This features as part of ongoing investigations using real and imaginary drums, synthetic sounds, performance and writing.

tender stains is a seasonal poetry zine that explores poetry as stains of memory and time. each issue moves through the seasons, holding memories as it does. every issue takes on a new physical format. 

issue 03, 'a winter memory', brings the words of elida silvey, kankisi apaak, willow swan, naja surattee, dilara koz and molly maltman in a compact envelope holding an arrangement of papers.

Evol/Love is a project in three parts: a billboard series, installation and publication connecting 160 subtitled movie stills that all contain the word Love.

A collage of voices and definitions arranged in alphabetical order, from ‘Love is where you find it’ (A: A Date with Judy, US 1948, 00:22:37) to ‘But even if it’s a little late, love has a way of coming back to you’(Y: Yeonae/Love is a Crazy Thing, KR 2005, 01:38:02), but read backwards to sound like its antonym: evil.

Child’s Replay is a hallucinatory homecoming. As we follow THE CHILD in a series of private re-enactments, the present self is revealed as the past’s fragile construction. Pursuing the banality of trauma, a first-person character juxtaposes childhood events with internal misrepresentations, reflections on the emotional toll of migration, psychoanalytic theory, Brazilian history, and literary criticism. An exploration of the impact that language and fiction have on real bodies, Child’s Replay assembles a hybrid portrait of memory and anti-memory. 

This publication is limited to 100 copies, which are signed and numbered by the author. 

The Singularity is a study of grief, migration, and motherhood from one of Sweden's most exciting new novelists. 

In an unnamed coastal city filled with refugees, the mother of a displaced family calls out her daughter's name as she wanders the cliffside road where the child once worked. The mother searches and searches until, spent from grief, she throws herself into the sea, leaving her other children behind. The book describes lore surrounding the founding and growth of the school as well as advice on how not to make money. You can also be a self-directed student and follow prompts from the most popular courses at the school: death, loneliness, erotics, god, and poetry. Part workbook and part lousy advice column: this book gives you everything you need to learn!

LA Warman also unearths her fucked philosophies for you to judge. The book centers around the idea that all knowledge is already inside your body, and through movement and writing activities, you can begin to open up this abundance. LA gives away every prompt she has used in class and every lesson plan so you can do class in your own space and time. You are the teacher. You are the student. You are the school.

LA Warman is a poet, sound artist, and teacher based in New York City. Her most recent poetic novella, titled Dust was published in 2022 by Inpatient Press. Warman is the author of Whore Foods, an erotic novella which received a Lambda Literary Award in 2020. She founded Warman School, a non-accredited and body-based learning center. The Warman School has taught over 1500 students online and in person. She teaches topics such as erotics, death, depression, and god. Pitchfork named her piece ADMSDP one of the top 100 songs of 2020. She has had performance and installation work in shows at MOCA Cleveland, ICA Philadelphia, Time-Based Art Festival, Poetry Project, and Open Engagement.  Warman has presented performative poetics research at Brown University, Hamilton College, Reed College, Hampshire College, and others. Her work has been featured in media like Interview Magazine, Vulture, poem-a-day, Out Magazine, and Mousse Magazine.
